Our programmes are defined by the national development priorities as drawn in the MGDS, and focused on supporting Malawi achieve the Millennium Development Goals. UNDP Malawi is structured into three broad programme clusters, namely: Capacity Development, Millennium Development Goals and Governance.
The 3 main programmes clusters comprise of teams within thematic areas, to capitalise on the diverse and dynamics skills of our staff and to take advantage of UNDP’s global network.
UNDP has created Implementation and Support Centre (ISC) to build upon corporate capacity and best practices to ensure the provision of high-level technical and operational support services for efficient programme and project implementation.
UNDP also administers the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and UN Volunteer programme
Programme Management Support Unit (PMSU)
Programme Management Support Unit works with the programme section providing counsel on delivery, target setting and reporting, Results Based Management, Programme audit management and Financial Reporting. The Unit is also responsible for quality control to ensure that projects and programmes are developed according to UNDP rules and procedures. In addition, the unit provides administrative support including initiating the process of making payments, procurements and facilitating missions and consultants for projects.
The unit is staffed by a Programme Management Analyst and 4 Programme Associates.
